Accommodations
The homes, villas and condominiums of Los Sueños are all built and designed to North American specifications and to the expectations of seasoned, discerning travelers. Each community is lushly landscaped and has one or more community swimming pool, Jacuzzi and fitness facility. Many properties have spectacular views of Herradura Bay, the rainforest, golf course or other appealing feature.
All guests have complimentary access to the resort’s private beach club with fountains and an extensive free-form pool with swim-up bar plus shower and change facilities. Room service from the Marriott Ocean Resort is available 24/7 to all resort guests, including those staying in condominiums and villas.
The Mead Brown collection includes vacation rentals in the Los Sueños Resort & Marina condominium communities of Colina, Veranda, Del Mar, Bay Residence, Bella Vista, Terraza de Marbella and Montebello, as well as the villa communities of Vista Tres Bahias and the Eco-Golf Estates. Getting around the resort is best accomplished by golf cart. A car is required for those staying in the Vista Tres Bahias community due to the road’s steep grade. Golf carts are available for rental from Durman within the resort or from Gato Gordo, just outside the resort’s entrance.
Marina
About the 200-slip international marina, Yachting Magazine said, “The area’s calm waters and rich big-game fishing Costa Rica fishing  are hard to beat. State-of-the-art sportfishermen, motoryachts and megayachts fill the marina, which opened in 2001.
“The full-service marina includes diesel mechanics, storage for small craft and a complete marine store, and serves as one of the few diesel-fuel stops for recreational boaters, according to Cooper. Many yacht owners have taken a liking to Los Suenos–many have deemed the area a welcome change from Mexico and Venezuela–since Costa Rica presents no compromises in fishing for amenities, and offers a lot less wind. Those who hesitate to reserve may find themselves on an ever-growing waiting list for dockage.
“Some owners send their 50-plus-foot fishing platforms through the Panama Canal or down the Mexican coast on their own bottom. Still others transport their boats, some smaller than 50 feet, from Ft. Lauderdale or Ensenada on a semi-submersible yacht carrier owned by Dockwise Yacht Transport. The boats are offloaded in Golfito, an easy trip to Playa Herradura.”
Charter boats can also be found. Costa Rica offers excellent marlin, sailfish, roosterfish, cubera snapper, dorado and yellow fin tuna fishing. Two of the year’s annual highlights are the Los Sueños Signature Billfish Series presented by Cabo Yachts. The tournaments are sanctioned by the World Billfish Series and the Rolex/IGFA Offshore Championship. Anglers competing in the Los Sueños tournaments are automatically enrolled in the WBS and compete for points in the Pacific Rim Division. The winners from the January and March Los Sueños tournaments are eligible to compete in the Rolex/IGFA Grand Championship. The total cash prize jackpot for the 2008 series is expected to exceed $300,000 and the boat with the highest combined score from the first and second tournaments will receive a guaranteed grand prize of US $50,000 from the tournament promoter, Los Sueños Resort & Marina™.

La Iguana golf course is a challenging par-72, championship 18-hole eco-golf course designed by Ted Robinson, Jr. Nestled alongside the exotic rainforest with breathtaking ocean views, this course features friendly monkeys and brightly hued macaws.
